Crocodile AdventureLet yourself be carried away by the natural world, the tropical sun, and prehistoric creatures.
This tour was created for all nature seekers. Whether you are a single traveler, or a family group, this tranquil, 2hour boat ride will see you floating along the mighty Tarcoles River, which is home to the largest population of American Crocodiles in Central America; some of them exceeding over 18ft in length, and weighing nearly 1300lbs.
During your 2hours on the water, you will not only get to enjoy the gentle ride, and vast knowledge of our naturalist, but MBJ has also gone the extra mile, in both quality and service, to provide all participants with top-end binoculars. We provide this service to enhance your ability to see and experience the natural world around you.
Apart from amazing close encounters with large reptiles, Tarcoles River and Guacalillo Mangroves also offer great opportunities to observe an enormous array of birds; many of which migrate, year-on-year, from North America. Local residents include Kingfishers, Hawks on the hunt for crabs, and Spoonbills feeding on shrimp and other crustaceans. You might also hear the somewhat disturbing call of Howler Monkeys rising-up in the distance, or witness the ?silent? movement of a raccoon washing its prey.
This boat tour is truly designed for those seeking a connection with the flora and fauna of the rainforest.

Great Experience My wife and I took the morning tour and it was the highlight of our time in Tarcoles. Randal was very knowledgeable and we saw a wide variety of bird species. I am going back and next time I will take advantage of the camera equipment he has available. A bonus was the large crocodiles we were able to get close to.
